It's that time of year again -- Time for The Christmas Card Extravaganza. This year I created a 4"x4" pocket card to hold a miniature candy bar and used the sentiment "One of a Kind" -- hence the name of the card.
This card uses a new stamp set just released this fall (D1480) Snowflakes (my favourite winter theme). Also used on the card and new this year is the Red Glitz Glitter Gel as well as the brown dotted paper from the new Wonderland paper packet.
It's been a while since I've posted -- funny (peculiar) I used to be so on top of things! LOL
Real life takes time away from blogging
I've been away on an amazing crazy adventure, LOL. No, actually, there have been other things, hahahaa.... Let's see, there's always r/l taking time away from the fun of keeping my blog updated, that's the first interference...but not the only one! LOL
Cyber Survivor Island Contestant Returns to Blogging
The other thing that kept me busy for quite a few months definitely does fall into the adventure category. I was in an on-line version of Survivor (called Survivor Facebook hosted by William Yelton). I have to say, I never expected it to take up sooooo much of my time. Wow! Short of being stranded on a real island and not begin able to shower, it pretty much exposed me to some of what really goes on in the land of Survivor.
The new diet -- Survivor
At first I wasn't sure what to expect and really had no idea what I had gotten myself into, LOL. By the time I was voted out -- I was ready to leave and thankful for it (LOL). The Challenges were a lot of fun and they certainly did make you think and work together with your tribe mates, or against them when the time came for individual immunity. Lack of sleep, irregular eating (including missed meals), crazy relationships that feel like the start of a "friendship" but really aren't, a host that knows all and finds ways to put you on the spot and live interaction via Skype -- what a way to take over my life completely for 4 months! Whew!
The return to real life slows the return to blogging
Time to move forward and find my way back to a regular schedule. Well, that is, after I catch up on all the things I let get behind, hahaa....I have let too many things go, one -- taxes, those evil things I started a few months back, and well..., I sort of never finished, LOL. Now the deadline looms eeek! eeek! and wait did I say eeek! yet? What ever was I thinking? (LOL) Escape!
A Real Life Meet-up
We were originally members of opposite tribes -- but after we made it to the merge, we had a chance to get to know each other and then later after we were both voted out, we had an opportuinty to meet up. It was a blast!

As you read this my family and I are on the road to our celebration destination!
This year we are celebrating the new year in another "New" State. Last year it was New York -- This year it's New Jersey. (I'll be sure to post some pictures when we return.)
So, have you made your New Year's Resolutions? Will you scrap more? Make more Cards? Spend more time with family?
It's funny, as a child I made a lot more new year resolutions than I did as an adult. Somehow time always seem to plow by so fast, resolutions were forgotten until the year was in progress. In 2010, I said one thing I would do would be to make my resolutions earlier, LOL. So, in an effort to do that, here they are:
1. Scrapbook more -- somehow life has taken me farther away from my scrapbook pages. I love scrapbooking because I enjoy looking back over the journaling and pictures, yet in the past few years I've done more "looking over" than "putting together".
2. Make more cards -- I have been making more cards than scrapbooks, yet sadly it's not nearly enough when I need to resort to using some store bought cards. This year I plan to finish off the store bought cards and move to only handcrafted cards.
3. Get more organized -- I already have some organizational items in place, this year I plan to continue developing things that work and finding ways to change what doesn't into something that does work.
4.Try to remember to be on the other side of the camera more often -- as I look back over our pictures, I realize I'm missing, and it's not that I wasn't there (LOL) -- I was just always on the other side of the camera. Time to figure out how to put me into my own scrapbooks so that one day my daughter and her children can "see" I was there too. Don't forget to put you in your scrapbooks, it's something many of us often miss. Your family will love seeing you!
Well, that sums up my list of four...but I always think of things the day of and as the week progresses -- this year will be no different, I will continue to come up with things I want to reinforce or change, it's all tradition!
Wishing you and yours a wonderful and prosperous year!
